Documentation
The Drive Snapshot interface is deliberately kept simple: even if you rarely run backups, you can manage without a manual. Still, every dialog is described here, with a screenshot.
- 01BackupChoose a partition, specify a destination, back up. Three dialogs, with encryption.
- 02RestoreWrite a drive back from the image. What works under Windows and what requires a restart.
- 03Image as a driveMount an image as a virtual drive and retrieve individual files.
- 04Command lineBack up, verify, mount and restore via batch file and Task Scheduler.
- 05Advanced optionsVSS, split file size, maintenance mode, hash file, log file.
- 06Backup FAQHow to check whether the image is complete, and what is allowed during the backup.
- 07Enter licenseTurn the free trial into the full version.
Still on the previous website
A few chapters have not been carried over into this draft. They are still available on drivesnapshot.de:

- Differential images
- VSS and writers
- Moving to different hardware
The complete manual is available as a printable PDF (German).
